Interviewed by Camille Antinori and Rob Bermudez, October 5, 2024
Rodrigo and Luciano are teenage brothers, born in Peru, who have discovered a love of fishing at the Berkeley marina. While their uncle initially introduced them to fishing, it was fishing YouTube videos a few years later that drove Rodrigo into making this a major hobby. He diligently taught his younger brother Luciano, and later his dad, how to bait and hook fish. The dad, who joins the interview briefly, was skeptical at first, preferring soccer to sitting around waiting for a fish to bite. But he tells how his boys won him over and how he now cherishes his time with the whole family down at the water - whether they catch something or not. The mom and older brother join the family outings, and Mom expertly cooks up whatever catch they choose to keep, sometimes making ceviche, a Peruvian delicacy.
